A woman in Karachi’s Orangi Town was killed by her tenants after she went to collect unpaid rent, police have confirmed. The victim, identified as Asma, had been tasked with rent collection for a rented property, where another family lived and allegedly owed three to four months’ rent.
When Asma confronted the tenants on December 4, a scuffle ensued and she was reportedly pushed, causing her fatal injuries. Her body was later discovered wrapped in a sack and dumped near Hawa Goth, prompting a missing-person report by her family. Police traced and arrested the accused couple, identified as Kishwar and Adnan, who then faced questioning as part of the ongoing investigation.
