Pakistan Bahrain trade

Pakistan and Bahrain have committed to increasing bilateral trade to US $1 billion over the next three years.

Current trade between the two countries stands at slightly above US $550 million, and both sides are optimistic that growth will accelerate partly due to an almost-finalised free-trade agreement between Pakistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), along with recent measures to ease visa and travel restrictions.

During discussions, Pakistani leadership invited Bahraini investors to consider opportunities in sectors such as food security, IT, construction, mining, renewable energy, healthcare, tourism and port-to-port logistics (e.g. between Karachi or Gwadar and Bahrain’s port) to facilitate smoother trade flows.

In addition to economic cooperation, both governments agreed to deepen ties in defence and security — including collaboration on training, cybersecurity, defence production and information exchange.

Officials also acknowledged Bahrain’s longstanding support for the Pakistani diaspora (estimated over 150,000 individuals), including facilitating education, repatriation and labour migration.
