The federal government has announced a new hike in the petrol price in Pakistan, with revised rates taking effect from October 1. According to the Ministry of Finance, the petrol price in Pakistan has increased by Rs4.07 per litre, while high-speed diesel has gone up by Rs4.04 per litre.
With this latest revision, the petrol price in Pakistan now stands at Rs268.68 per litre, rising from the previous rate of Rs264.61. The new price of high-speed diesel has reached Rs276.81 per litre, up from Rs272.77.
These revised petroleum prices will remain in effect for the next 15 days, with fuel stations updating the rates from midnight. Officials explained that the increase is part of the government’s routine fortnightly review, influenced by international oil market trends and exchange rate movements.
Just two weeks earlier, on September 16, the government kept the petrol price in Pakistan unchanged but increased the price of high-speed diesel.
