Pakistan Railways has launched a new greening initiative in partnership with the provincial government of Punjab, committing to plant trees and flowering plants along railway tracks across the region.
The first phase of the plantation drive has begun along routes in Mandi Bahauddin, Malakwal, Sargodha, and Bhalwal — where saplings are already being planted under official supervision.
In parallel with this environmental effort, Pakistan Railways is also upgrading its infrastructure: station waiting areas are being improved, and older train coaches are being modernized to enhance passenger comfort and convenience.
Officials say the dual focus — greening railway tracks and modernizing passenger facilities — aims to offer a more sustainable, cleaner, and pleasant travel experience across the country.
