Authorities in District East, Karachi have imposed a complete ban on the sale and purchase of illegal portions and extra/un-authorised floors in residential buildings.
The move comes as part of an enforcement drive aimed at curbing dangerous construction practices, overcrowding and severe risks to structural safety in the district.
Officials emphasised that from now on, any transaction involving unapproved portions or floors—whether sale, purchase or registration—will be considered unlawful and subject to legal action, including possible sealing or demolition of the units involved.
