Police in Karachi have arrested a suspect after an obscene video was broadcast on digital advertising screens in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), triggering local protests and official action. Authorities registered a criminal case at Gizri Police Station under Section 292 of the Pakistan Penal Code following the incident on Khayaban-e-Ittehad Road, south of the city. DIG South Asad Raza said the suspect, an employee of the outdoor advertising company managing the screens, told investigators that an inappropriate video stored on his mobile phone was mistakenly played on the digital boards instead of approved advertisements. Residents had earlier staged protests over the explicit content before police shut off the affected screens and launched a probe into the event.
