During the ongoing World Culture Festival 2025 at the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi (ACPK) in Karachi, the President of the Arts Council, Mohammad Ahmed Shah, presented a traditional Sindhi “Ajrak”, a Sindhi cap, and a bouquet to the Ambassador of Portugal, Manuel Frederico Pinheiro da Silva, symbolising the rich cultural heritage of Sindh.

In appreciation of Pakistan–Portugal diplomatic ties, the Ambassador offered a medal chain to Mohammad Ahmed Shah.

During his visit, the Ambassador toured the Ahmed Pervez Art Gallery at ACPK, viewed an international art exhibition, film screenings, and murals on the council’s outer walls. He praised the role of the Arts Council in fostering the fine arts and affirmed that more Portuguese artists will participate in future festivals to deepen cultural exchange.

Mohammad Ahmed Shah highlighted that the Arts Council, with a team of 300 young people and six academies offering training in painting, music, dance, theatre and textile design, hosted participants from 142 countries at this year’s festival (up from 44 in the prior year). He emphasised they organise cultural programmes not only in Karachi but across Pakistan.
