During his visit to Islamabad’s Angoori suburb, Switzerland’s Ambassador to Pakistan, George Steiner, reaffirmed the longstanding and growing bilateral ties between the two nations. He highlighted that while expanding trade remains a chief priority, there is significant scope for cooperation in tourism, medicine and agriculture.
Ambassador Steiner noted that several Swiss companies are already active in Pakistan, and that Switzerland is Pakistan’s third-largest foreign investor. He described Pakistan as a “beautiful and diverse country”, citing Lahore for its rich history, Karachi for its commercial vitality and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for its stunning geography.
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism that trade links will broaden to new sectors and encouraged more Swiss firms to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.
