A spokesman for Taliban-controlled Afghanistan claims that Pakistan carried out air strikes in the provinces of Khost, Kunar and Paktika overnight.
No official Pakistani statement has been issued to verify or deny the report.
The alleged strikes coincide with heightened tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan, largely tied to Pakistan’s demands for Kabul to act against cross-border terror networks such as Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Previous rounds of talks mediated by Turkey and Qatar had sought a mechanism for peace, but Pakistan’s defence minister recently declared the dialogue “over” and embarked on a tougher stance.
