KABUL – Noor Wali Mehsud, the chief of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has reportedly been killed in a precision airstrike in the heart of Afghanistan’s capital, targeting Pakistan’s most wanted militant leader. According to sources, the strike also hit key TTP figures Qari Saifullah Mehsud and Khalid Mehsud, both seen as potential successors to Noor Wali Mehsud.
Reports indicate that a drone strike targeted Noor Wali Mehsud’s vehicle, causing severe damage. While official confirmation of his death is pending, intelligence sources suggest he sustained fatal injuries. Eyewitnesses in Kabul claimed that Noor Wali Mehsud was traveling openly at the time of the attack, highlighting the boldness of the operation deep within Afghan territory.
