Sidra Amin, Pakistan’s senior batter, has expressed strong confidence ahead of the crucial Women’s World Cup clash against Australia, calling it a “significant challenge” for the Green Shirts.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Sidra Amin said that both the team and individual players were fully focused on delivering their best performance. “We have prepared a plan to take early wickets against Australia,” she stated. “The wicket is difficult for batting, but once a batter spends some time at the crease, it becomes easier.”
Emphasizing her role, Sidra Amin said she aims to produce another strong performance for Pakistan. “As a senior batter, I am the backbone of the team,” she remarked. “The captain and coach trust me and assign me key responsibilities.”
Comparing the pitch conditions, Sidra Amin mentioned that the surfaces resembled those in Australia. “I have never played on such a wicket in Asia,” she added.
Reflecting on her early dismissal against Bangladesh, Sidra Amin admitted feeling disappointed. “You work hard, and sometimes the effort pays off,” she said. After playing two matches in the tournament, she noted that she had become more familiar with the conditions.
Acknowledging Australia’s strength, Sidra Amin said confidence would play a vital role in their upcoming clash. She praised the Australian bowling attack, stating, “All Australian bowlers are good.”
With focus and determination, Sidra Amin remains hopeful of putting up a commanding performance to help Pakistan challenge one of the world’s strongest teams.
