Naqvi warning incomplete travel documents

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a firm warning to Pakistanis attempting to travel abroad with incomplete or fraudulent travel documents, stating such individuals will be barred from departure as part of efforts to protect the nation’s reputation and curb illegal migration. Naqvi made the remarks during a visit to Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore, where he also inspected immigration counters and the departure process.

Speaking to passengers, Naqvi clarified that only travellers with complete and valid documentation will be allowed to board flights, and that authorities will take strict action against those carrying bogus or insufficient papers, including professional beggars misusing travel channels. He emphasised that facilitating legitimate travellers and maintaining Pakistan’s dignity were priorities for the Interior Ministry.

The warning comes amid broader government efforts to tighten immigration controls and counter human trafficking. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently reviewed enforcement measures, including actions by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which has arrested hundreds linked to trafficking and illegal migration. The PM directed authorities to ensure genuine travellers are not inconvenienced while strengthening systems to prevent abuse and corruption within immigration processes.
