The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has finalised a Rs 9 billion road-rehabilitation plan targeting over 26 major streets across various districts of Karachi. The proposal is to be submitted for approval under the Special Karachi Development Grant from the provincial government.
A high-level meeting chaired by Mayor Murtaza Wahab discussed the review of the plan in detail, with senior officials from the local government department, municipal commission and financial advisory teams in attendance.
The roads earmarked include key arteries that have long suffered from wear and congestion. The rehabilitation is expected to ease traffic, enhance mobility and address infrastructure bottlenecks in Karachi’s towns.
