Karachi dumper tracker fine

Karachi Traffic Police have slapped a Rs 100,000 e-challan — the highest ever — on the owner of a dumper involved in a fatal crash after failing to install a mandatory tracker.

The crackdown comes after a tragic accident early one morning, when the dumper collided with a rickshaw and a van on the National Highway near Razzakabad, killing the rickshaw driver.

Authorities imposed a 24-hour ban on all dumpers and water tankers in Karachi that are not fitted with approved trackers. Traffic officials are coordinating with the IT division of the Traffic Regulation and Citation System (TRCS) to verify tracker compliance.

According to traffic leadership, this strict action aims to curb reckless driving by heavy vehicles, many of which operate with expired fitness certificates or subpar safety standards.
