Karachi police encounter arrests

Two separate alleged police encounters in Karachi resulted in injuries and arrests of two suspects, while their accomplices escaped.

In the first incident near the Supermarket area of Sohrab Goth, police signalled two motorcyclists to stop. When they allegedly opened fire, officers returned fire — one suspect, identified as Dawlat Khan, was injured and apprehended. Weapons, ammunition, and a stolen mobile phone were recovered from him.

In the second incident in Shahrayar Town (Malir District), unknown motorcyclists similarly opened fire when approached by police on Road No. 12. One suspect, Abdul Rehman, was wounded and arrested; a pistol, ammunition, and cash were seized. His accomplice fled the scene.

According to police, the suspects were patrolling with the intention of committing robberies. Investigations and searches for the escaped suspects are ongoing, and the arrested individuals are undergoing medical treatment and custody proceedings.
