Relatives of Dr. Mehr Ali Tunio from Naushahro Feroze gathered at the Hyderabad Press Club on Friday, protesting his killing in a suspected staged encounter by police in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area.
They allege that Dr. Tunio had withdrawn Rs 1.5 million from his bank to buy medical equipment and supplies. During a routine check, they claim, police intercepted him, then falsely accused him of robbery and shot him dead.
