A major warehouse fire in Baldia Town, Karachi finally came under control after 21 hours, officials report.
The blaze broke out on Thursday night in a two-acre facility in Moach Goth, Baldia, and was extinguished late Friday afternoon.
Fire officer Zafar Khan said the fire likely stemmed from human negligence. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this particular incident.
The firefighting team deployed five fire tenders, two water bowsers and a Rescue 1122 fire truck to bring the blaze under control, and had to break through the warehouse’s boundary wall due to intense smoke and water-shortage obstacles.
Meanwhile, over the past five days, additional fires in Karachi claimed two lives and injured six children, highlighting a worrying trend of fire incidents across the city.
