Balochistan, a land of stark beauty and deep-rooted resilience, was once again plunged into grief as terror struck the heart of Khuzdar. A peaceful morning turned into a scene of unimaginable horror when a school bus carrying innocent children was targeted in a brutal explosion near Zero Point. Among the five precious lives lost, three were children—young souls with dreams that will never see the light of day.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack was deliberate and heinous. It wasn’t just a bomb—it was an assault on innocence, peace, and the future of Balochistan. The school bus was destroyed, leaving behind a trail of shattered glass, twisted metal, and a nation in mourning.
The ISPR condemned the attack as the work of “Indian-sponsored terrorists,” describing it as a desperate move by groups facing heavy losses in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These cowardly elements, according to the army’s media wing, are targeting the most vulnerable to spread fear—but they will not succeed.
Deputy Commissioner Khuzdar, Yasir Iqbal, confirmed the blast was likely a suicide attack based on initial investigations. He expressed sorrow over the scale of devastation, stating the explosion left the bus unrecognizable.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was quick to respond, calling the attack barbaric and unforgivable. “Targeting schoolchildren is not just cowardice—it’s cruelty in its most inhumane form,” he said. He assured the nation that justice would be swift and severe. “We share the pain of the families, and we will not rest until those behind this atrocity are held accountable.”
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province by area yet smallest by population, has been caught in the crosshairs of terrorism for years. The tragic incident in Khuzdar is not an isolated case. Just earlier this month, seven Pakistani soldiers were martyred in an IED blast in the Mach area—another brutal strike attributed to the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), labelled by authorities as an Indian proxy.
These incidents echo the dark memories of the 2014 Army Public School massacre in Peshawar, where over 150 lives—mostly children—were lost. The pain still lingers, and now, the wounds have been reopened in Khuzdar.
Despite the repeated attacks, the spirit of Balochistan remains unbroken. The people, the armed forces, and the government stand united—stronger than the fear terrorists try to spread. There’s no place for such brutality in any society, and Pakistan continues to prove that it will not bow to terror.
As prayers are offered for the injured and the families mourning the unimaginable loss, one thing remains certain: Balochistan will rise. And those who seek to harm its children will never escape justice.
