ISLAMABAD: An Indian HC staff member in Islamabad has been declared persona non grata by the Government of Pakistan for engaging in activities incompatible with his diplomatic status. The concerned official has been directed to leave Pakistan within 24 hours.
The Indian Charge d’Affaires was called to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a formal demarche, conveying the government’s decision regarding the Indian HC staff member. This action underscores Pakistan’s commitment to enforcing international diplomatic protocols.
The expulsion of this Indian HC staff member has drawn attention to the ongoing diplomatic tensions between the two nations. Pakistan’s government stressed that such violations of diplomatic norms will not be tolerated.
In an unrelated development, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Rawalpindi today. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visit was intended to assess the recovery of Pakistan Army soldiers and civilians injured during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos / Marka-e-Haq.
General Munir personally met with each injured soldier, praising their courage, resilience, and exceptional sense of duty. He conveyed his best wishes for their swift recovery.
In his remarks, the Army Chief highlighted that the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistan’s citizens and soldiers form the foundation of the nation’s security. He reaffirmed that the entire nation stands in solidarity with its Armed Forces.
