The Rangers’ mission in Karachi has been extended for another six months. The Sindh government gave their consent.

Murad Ali Shah, Sindh Chief Minister, accepted the extended time during a provincial cabinet meeting on Thursday. The Sindh Rangers will retain their powers under the Anti-Terrorism Act.

The cabinet also authorized the development of a governing body to replace the Sindh Building Control Authority’s Overseas Committee. It also authorized the appointment of four new Thar Coal and Energy Board members. Members include Shazia Mari, Education Minister Sardar Shah, Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shoro, and Karni Singh.

According to a spokeswoman, the cabinet exempted a 45,371-square-yard site in North Nazimabad from stamp duty, where the Bohri community intends to establish a university.
