Officials at the Pakistan Customs Airport Cargo Control Unit foiled a major drug-smuggling attempt after seizing a parcel at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi. The package — declared as clothes, socks and music boxes and shipped from Germany — was found to contain 9,455 illegal pills worth over PKR 290 million when inspected.
The seizure took place at the Karachi International Mail Office, where customs personnel spotted the suspicious package and conducted a detailed inspection, leading to the interception.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to trace and apprehend those responsible for arranging the consignment.
