Naqvi visited the ongoing project and reviewed the progress of construction activities. During the briefing, officials updated him on the work being carried out at the site and the challenges affecting the project’s pace.

The minister expressed concern over delays in relocating utilities and instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to coordinate immediately with Sui Gas authorities.

Utility Relocation Ordered on Emergency Basis

Naqvi directed that the relocation of utility services be completed on an emergency basis so construction can proceed without further delays.

He also ordered officials to increase the workforce and deploy additional machinery at the project site to speed up development work.

More Than 60 Machines Working

According to officials, more than 60 machines are currently working simultaneously at the Islamabad Expressway Service Road project.

The increased deployment of machinery is aimed at maintaining construction momentum and helping authorities complete the project within the required timeframe.

Islamabad Expressway Project Scope

The service road project involves the rehabilitation and widening of the existing road along the Islamabad Expressway. Earlier project details showed that the planned road would cover around 8.25 kilometres from Faizabad to Korang Chowk, with a six-lane road, an underpass and a flyover included in the scheme.

The project is expected to improve connectivity and help reduce traffic congestion on one of Islamabad’s major transport routes.
