The Sindh government has announced the closure of all educational institutions across the province from March 16 to March 31. The decision was taken during a meeting of the provincial cabinet in Karachi.
According to officials, the closure will apply to both public and private schools and colleges throughout Sindh. Authorities described the break as part of a 15-day spring vacation aimed at addressing the ongoing regional and economic situation affecting the country.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that while educational institutions will remain closed for regular classes, scheduled examinations will continue as planned and will not be postponed.
The government has also directed colleges and universities to continue academic activities through online classes during the closure period to ensure that students’ studies are not disrupted.
The decision is part of broader measures introduced by the Sindh government to manage economic pressures and changing regional circumstances, including adjustments in government office working schedules and other administrative steps.
Officials said the situation will continue to be monitored, and further decisions regarding educational institutions will be taken if necessary after March 31, when the current closure period ends.
