Biman Bangladesh resumes Dhaka–Karachi flights

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced the **resumption of direct flights between **Dhaka and Karachi, restoring non-stop air service between the two countries for the first time in over a decade. The national carrier said its inaugural Karachi–Dhaka service is scheduled to begin on January 29, 2026, with two weekly flights set for Thursdays and Saturdays. This marks the first regular direct route between the cities since 2012, closing a long gap in bilateral air connectivity that has persisted for more than 13 years.

Officials from Biman said the restored service will significantly improve travel options for business passengers, tourists and families, who previously relied on connecting flights via Gulf hubs such as Dubai or Doha. The move comes amid warming diplomatic and economic ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh, including boosts in trade, cargo shipping and cultural exchanges in recent months, reflecting a broader rapprochement following political shifts in Dhaka.
