Doctors at Lyari General Hospital in Karachi successfully removed a massive 15-kilogram tumour from the abdomen of a 38-year-old woman, a mother of five from Thatta, who was admitted in critical condition.
According to hospital chief Anjum Rehman, the tumour was discovered during initial examination — despite its size and complexity, a specialized surgical team carried out the procedure, and the patient is now recovering.
The operation marks a significant success for Karachi’s public-sector hospitals and highlights their capacity to carry out high-risk, large-scale surgical interventions.
