Pakistan Denies Indian

Pakistan denies Indian claim that it used a Shaheen missile during Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, calling the accusation baseless and misleading. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs dismissed the Indian Army’s allegations, stating that such reports are not only irresponsible but entirely unverified.

The claim originated from a video posted on the Indian Army’s official X account (formerly Twitter), which appeared to show Pakistan launching a Shaheen missile amid ongoing tensions. However, the video was soon deleted—raising questions about its authenticity.

Following India’s May 10 airstrike on Pakistani airbases, Pakistan denies Indian claim once again, asserting that no Shaheen missiles were used in retaliation. Instead, Pakistan launched a well-coordinated counteroffensive under Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. The Foreign Office confirmed that Pakistan deployed Al-Fatah missiles to target Indian military installations involved in the strikes.

A press release from Pakistan’s military media wing, ISPR, dated May 12, 2025, listed the arsenal used during the operation. These included:

  • Precision-guided Fatah-series missiles (F1 and F2)
  • Long-range loitering drones
  • High-tech artillery and advanced munitions

There was no mention of the Shaheen missile, further disproving the Indian narrative.

The Foreign Office strongly condemned the spread of misinformation. Pakistan denies Indian claim by presenting documented evidence, while the Indian Army offered no clarification after removing the video. “The misleading video had already circulated widely before being taken down,” the FO noted, criticizing the Indian media for spreading unverified claims.

Analysts in Islamabad believe that such stories aim to divert attention from India’s challenges during Operation Sindoor. “These narratives are not only false but also serve to justify India’s aggressive stance on the ceasefire and its allegations of ‘nuclear blackmail’,” said a government spokesperson.

The conflict intensified following the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 people. India quickly blamed Pakistan, a claim Islamabad firmly rejected. The next day, India escalated tensions by:

  • Suspending the Indus Waters Treaty
  • Cancelling visas for Pakistani nationals
  • Closing the Wagah-Attari border crossing
  • Expelling diplomatic staff and shutting Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi

On May 7, missile attacks devastated multiple areas in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, killing civilians and destroying a mosque. Pakistan’s military responded by shooting down Indian warplanes, including Rafale jets.

The situation peaked on May 10 when India struck Pakistani airbases. In response, Pakistan initiated Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, targeting Indian airbases, missile depots, and other strategic sites.

Despite allegations, Pakistan denies Indian claim of using Shaheen missiles and urges international media to verify facts before reporting. The ceasefire that followed, brokered by the United States, was confirmed by leaders from both nations.

Pakistan denies Indian claims with clear, documented evidence and warns against spreading false narratives. Such disinformation campaigns risk escalating tensions in an already volatile region and undermine professional diplomacy and trust.
