Pakistan internet service disruption denial

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has dismissed rumours claiming that internet services in Pakistan will face disruption or degradation today. The authority clarified that although routine maintenance work on an undersea submarine cable is in progress, it will not affect internet connectivity nationwide.

The statements circulated on social media about an impending internet outage lack factual basis, the PTA said, emphasising that services remain stable and fully operational across the country.

Internet slowness and intermittent connectivity issues have occurred previously in Pakistan for various technical reasons such as cable work, spectrum limitations or security measures. However, for this instance, the PTA stated there are no scheduled outages or disruptions linked to the maintenance activity.
