In the ongoing T20I tri-series hosted by Pakistan national cricket team, Dasun Shanaka of the Sri Lanka national cricket team has unfortunately set an unwanted record. In his recent dismissal for a duck against Pakistan, Shanaka became the first batsman in T20I history to register 14 zeros (ducks) in his career.
The record surpasses those held by players like Soumya Sarkar and Paul Stirling, who each had 13 ducks previously.
Shanaka’s wicket fell early thanks to a sharp delivery by the Pakistan bowling attack, capping off what has been a troubling pattern for him in the T20 format.
