ISLAMABAD, September 25, 2026 — The federal government has increased the petrol price by Rs2.02 per litre while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.59 per litre for the period from September 26 to September 28, 2026.
Following the latest revision, petrol will be available at Rs391.30 per litre, while the price of HSD has been set at Rs408.53 per litre.
Petrol Price Increased to Rs391.30
According to the Petroleum Division, the petrol price was raised from Rs389.28 to Rs391.30 per litre, marking an increase of Rs2.02. The new rate will remain applicable through September 28.
The latest adjustment comes amid continued volatility in international oil markets, with global energy prices affected by geopolitical developments and supply concerns.
Diesel Price Reduced by Rs3.59
In contrast to petrol, the government reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs3.59 per litre.
The HSD price has fallen from Rs412.12 to Rs408.53 per litre under the latest notification.
Diesel prices are particularly important for the transport and agricultural sectors because of their widespread use in commercial vehicles and machinery.
New Fuel Rates Apply Until September 28
The revised prices are effective for just three days, from September 26 to September 28, 2026. OGRA revised the ex-depot prices following changes in international fuel-related costs.
The Petroleum Division said the adjustment was linked to factors including Platts rates, premiums and incidentals.
Global Oil Market Continues to Affect Pakistan
Pakistan remains exposed to international oil-market movements because it imports a significant portion of its petroleum requirements. Changes in global crude prices, shipping conditions, geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions can therefore affect domestic fuel prices.
The government has also introduced measures aimed at providing relief to some fuel consumers amid elevated petroleum prices, including a proposed fuel subsidy for motorcycles, rickshaws and smaller-engine cars.
