ISLAMABAD, September 23, 2026 — The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), with the new rates taking effect from September 23 following a downward revision by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).
Petrol Price Reduced by Rs1.70 Per Litre
The price of petrol has been cut by Rs1.70 per litre, bringing it down from Rs393.75 to Rs392.05 per litre.
The revised petrol rate is part of the government’s latest adjustment based on changes in international petroleum markets and related pricing costs.
HSD Price Falls by Rs3.12
The government has also reduced the price of high-speed diesel by Rs3.12 per litre.
Following the revision, HSD will now be available at Rs418.96 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs422.08.
OGRA Revises Petroleum Prices
OGRA revised the ex-depot prices following developments in global oil markets, including changes in Platts rates, premiums and incidental costs.
The latest rates are part of Pakistan’s new approach to petroleum pricing, under which international market movements are reflected more frequently in domestic fuel prices.
New Fuel Rates Effective September 23
The revised prices apply from September 23, 2026. Under the current pricing mechanism, petroleum prices are reviewed using international market data, with the government seeking to pass changes in global oil costs through to local consumers.
