Pakistani passport world ranking

Pakistan’s passport has climbed the global rankings in the latest Henley Passport Index 2026, rising to 98th place from its previous position as one of the lowest-ranked travel documents worldwide. This improvement reflects gradual diplomatic efforts and new international agreements that have expanded travel opportunities for Pakistani citizens.

According to the index, Pakistani passport holders now enjoy visa-free, visa-on-arrival, or electronic travel authorization (eTA) access to 31 countries across Asia, Africa, the Caribbean and Oceania. Despite the modest gain, Pakistan’s passport remains in the lower tier globally, tied with Yemen and ranking ahead of Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan.

The ranking is compiled by Henley & Partners using data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which measures the number of destinations passport holders can visit without a prior visa. Top-ranked passports such as Singapore’s allow visa-free access to nearly 200 countries and territories.
