BRIDGETOWN, September 20, 2026 — Jamaica Kingsmen posted 170 for nine against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the 2026 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final at Kensington Oval, with opener Maaz Sadaqat producing a spectacular century.
Sent in to bat after losing the toss, Jamaica struggled to build partnerships early but were kept in the game by Sadaqat’s outstanding innings. The 25-year-old batter scored 114 runs from 58 balls, including eight fours and nine sixes.
Sadaqat Leads Jamaica’s Batting
Sadaqat took control of the innings with aggressive stroke play and maintained a strike rate of nearly 197. His century provided Jamaica with the foundation needed to reach a competitive total in the championship match.
He found useful support from Saim Ayub, who contributed 29 runs from 22 deliveries. Sadaqat also combined with Andre Russell during the late stages of the innings to add valuable runs.
Sadaqat was eventually dismissed for 114 in the 20th over, caught by James off the bowling of Shamar Springer. His dismissal came with Jamaica on 169 for nine.
Jamaica Kingsmen Set 171-Run Target
Jamaica finished their 20 overs at 170/9, giving the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons a target of 171 runs to win the CPL final.
For Antigua and Barbuda, Alzarri Joseph was among the leading bowlers, finishing with two wickets for 27 runs from his four overs. Shamar Springer also claimed two wickets.
The final is being played at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, with the Falcons entering the match after defeating Guyana Amazon Warriors in Qualifier 1, while Jamaica reached the final by beating the Warriors in Qualifier 2.
Sadaqat Continues Strong CPL Form
Sadaqat had already played an important role in Jamaica’s run to the final. In the team’s Qualifier 2 victory over Guyana, he scored 41 from 17 balls, helping Jamaica make a strong start in their chase of 207.
His 114 in the final now represents another major contribution during Jamaica’s first season back in the CPL.
