LPG prices in Pakistan

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices remain high across several Pakistani cities, with consumers paying up to Rs600 per kilogram despite expectations of a decline in rates. The rising cost is adding to household expenses, particularly for families that rely on LPG for cooking because of limited access to piped natural gas.

Latest LPG Prices in Major Cities

According to a report published by Bloom Pakistan on October 27, 2026, LPG prices vary across major urban centres.

City LPG price per kg
Lahore Rs600
Karachi Rs530
Islamabad Rs600
Rawalpindi Rs600
Quetta Rs530
Peshawar Rs570

These reported market rates show that consumers in Lahore and the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are paying among the highest prices listed, while Karachi and Quetta have comparatively lower rates.

LPG Prices Remain Above the Official Rate

The high retail prices are significantly above the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority’s (OGRA) notified October rate of Rs279.34 per kilogram. This substantial gap has raised concerns about affordability and the enforcement of official pricing.

Recent reports have also highlighted supply disruptions following the suspension of LPG imports through key Pakistan-Iran border crossings. Traders have warned that shortages could continue to put pressure on prices as winter demand increases.

Rising Costs Put Pressure on Households

LPG is an essential cooking fuel for many households, especially in areas where piped natural gas is unavailable or supplied for limited hours. Higher prices increase the cost of refilling domestic cylinders and place additional pressure on families already dealing with rising living expenses.

Although LPG cargoes arriving from Oman raised hopes of improved supply and lower prices, reports published on October 26 indicated that rates remained elevated in several cities.

Consumers will be watching for improved supply and stronger price enforcement to see whether retail LPG rates begin to fall in the coming days.
