LAHORE, October 1, 2026 — A 23-year-old MBBS student died after drowning in a swimming pool at a private medical college in Lahore’s Garden Town area, police said. The deceased was identified as Abdullah Mazhar, a third-year medical student from Chishtian.

According to police, Abdullah had gone to the private medical college’s swimming pool with friends when he drowned while swimming. Initial reports said he was caught in deeper water before the incident.
Abdullah was a resident of Chishtian, Bahawalnagar, and was studying in the third year of the MBBS programme.
