Karachi Records Unusually High September Temperatures
Karachi recorded a maximum temperature of around 40.7°C on Monday, making it the city’s hottest September day in nine years, according to PMD data. The previous September high was 40.5°C, recorded in 2017.
The heat has been accompanied by high humidity, making conditions feel warmer than the actual temperature. PMD officials attributed the recent rise in temperatures partly to changes in wind patterns and weakened sea breezes.
Temperatures Expected to Ease
The weather is expected to remain hot on Tuesday, although temperatures are forecast to begin declining from the levels recorded on Monday.
PMD data shows Karachi’s maximum temperature could reach around 38°C, while another current forecast places the daytime high close to 39°C. Conditions are expected to become somewhat cooler from Wednesday onward.
Hot and Humid Conditions Continue
Humidity is also expected to remain noticeable, particularly during the morning and evening. The combination of high temperatures and humidity could make outdoor conditions uncomfortable.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated, limit unnecessary exposure to the afternoon heat and take appropriate precautions during prolonged outdoor activity.
Karachi Weather Outlook
According to the latest PMD observations, Karachi remained sunny and hot on Tuesday, with no rainfall recorded in the city during the day. Forecast data indicates that temperatures should gradually moderate over the following days.
The PMD has also forecast generally hot and dry weather across much of Sindh, while coastal areas may experience partly cloudy conditions.
