Karachi 2025 crime statistics

The Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has reported a total of more than 60,700 criminal incidents in Karachi during the first 11 months of 2025 — a strong indication of rising street crime in the city.

Data released by CPLC shows that 35,749 motorcycles were stolen, and 6,078 were snatched at gunpoint. 16,278 mobile phones were either stolen or snatched.

Vehicle theft remains acute: 1,728 cars were reported stolen from parking lots or homes, while 284 cars were taken in snatching incidents.

Crimes beyond theft also surged. CPLC recorded 89 extortion cases and 13 kidnappings for ransom this year.

The human cost has been considerable: 528 people lost their lives in various criminal incidents, including over 80 individuals shot dead while resisting crime attempts.

CPLC officials warned citizens to remain vigilant and called for enhanced cooperation between the public and law-enforcement agencies to curb the alarming trend.
