In Karachi, a woman has accused police personnel of sexually assaulting her inside a station after she sought assistance in applying for a credit card.
She alleges that the officers filmed the assault and later used the footage to blackmail her.
The Sindh High Court expressed serious dissatisfaction with the investigation report submitted by the Senior Superintendent of Police (Investigation).
While a special team led by officers from the Bahadurabad and Ferozabad areas was formed to arrest the suspects, the court found no substantial progress evident in the report.
The court handed the case over to the Additional Inspector General of Police for further review and asked for personal supervision of the inquiry.
The next hearing has been scheduled and the court has warned of departmental consequences if negligence is detected.
