Karachi Landhi EPZ factory fire

A major fire broke out late Friday night at a factory located inside Karachi’s Landhi Export Processing Zone (EPZ), prompting an extensive emergency response from rescue and firefighting teams. Officials from Rescue 1122 reported that at least six fire tenders, water bowsers, and snorkel units were deployed to contain the blaze, which started in the ground floor of the plastic manufacturing unit and spread to the first floor. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab said additional resources were mobilised, and the Sindh police chief directed law enforcement to secure the area and keep access routes clear for emergency crews. At the time of reporting, no casualties had been confirmed, with firefighters continuing efforts to bring the fire under control.
