Karachi e-challan fines

The Sindh Government has publicly rejected proposals to lower the fines associated with the e‑challan system in Karachi, despite growing public pressure.
According to Nasir Hussain Shah, Local Government Minister, the current fine structure will remain intact as part of the city’s efforts to enforce road discipline and empower local bodies.
Shah emphasised that the e-challan system is central to efforts of urban governance and traffic regulation, and that public debate will not alter the enforcement policy.
Motorists in Karachi are therefore advised to comply fully with the regulations, as there will be no forthcoming relief in penalty amounts.
