200kg explosives seized Karachi Baldia Town raid

Law enforcement agencies in Karachi have seized 200 kilograms of explosives during a targeted raid in Baldia Town, officials said, acting on intelligence provided by detained terrorists. The explosive materials were found stored in drums inside a residential property following a Counter Terrorism Department (CTD)-led operation on Monday night.

According to CTD sources, the intelligence tip came from members of the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) who were already in custody and disclosed details about the cache in Raise Goth area. Officers recovered the explosives and took them into custody for further forensic analysis, while efforts continue to locate additional suspects linked to the storage site.

This marks the second seizure of explosive material in the city within 10 days; earlier operations in the wider Baldia Rais Goth area led to the recovery of approximately 2,000 kilograms of explosive material and the arrest of several militants amid intelligence-led raids.

Authorities stressed that ongoing coordination between intelligence agencies and counterterrorism units remains vital to identifying and dismantling networks attempting to stockpile explosive material for unlawful use.
