Punjab CTD operations

Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Punjab has arrested 13 suspected militants during intelligence-based operations across the province, with authorities also reporting the detention of a suspected operative linked to India’s intelligence agency, RAW.

The arrests were made as part of intensified counterterrorism operations aimed at identifying and disrupting suspected militant networks operating in different parts of Punjab.

Suspected RAW-Linked Operative Arrested

According to CTD officials, one of the suspects was allegedly linked to RAW, India’s Research and Analysis Wing. In a recent Sahiwal operation, authorities said a suspect identified as Wajid Ali was arrested and accused of planning attacks on sensitive and security installations.

CTD officials said they recovered 1,825 grams of explosive material along with electronic equipment, an IED, detonators, wires and other items from the suspect. These allegations and recoveries were attributed to CTD sources.

The CTD has been conducting intelligence-based and combing operations in multiple districts of Punjab. Recent operations have included areas such as Sahiwal, Attock, Multan, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and other districts.

During a separate series of operations reported in September, Punjab CTD said it arrested 23 suspected militants during 158 intelligence-based operations. Officials reported recovering explosives, IEDs, detonators, safety fuse wire, prohibited magazines and other material.
