KARACHI, September 30, 2026 — Honda Atlas Cars Ltd (HACL) has discontinued local production of the Honda BR-V, ending the model’s nearly decade-long run in Pakistan. The company said the vehicle had reached the end of its lifecycle, while production volumes had remained relatively low.
Honda BR-V Production Comes to an End
A senior Honda Atlas executive told Dawn that the decision was not linked to difficulties in sourcing parts from Japan or other countries. Instead, the company said the BR-V had completed its lifecycle and production was therefore halted.
The BR-V was introduced in Pakistan in 2017 and became Honda Atlas’s locally assembled seven-seater. Honda’s own corporate information lists the BR-V among the locally produced models introduced after the City and Civic.
Low Production Volumes Cited
According to the company executive, BR-V production had fallen to roughly 25 to 50 units per month. Honda Atlas has also removed the model from its official website, while the company has not confirmed whether a direct replacement will be introduced in the near future.
Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) figures cited by Dawn show that combined production of the BR-V and HR-V fell sharply to 120 units in July-August, compared with 1,460 units during the same period in 2025. Combined sales also declined from 731 units to 191 units over the same period.
BR-V Faced Growing Competition
The BR-V entered Pakistan’s market at a time when seven-seat crossovers had fewer competitors. However, the local automobile market has since seen increased competition from newer Chinese and Korean vehicles, including hybrid and electric models.
Honda Atlas later expanded its crossover lineup with the HR-V, which was launched in Pakistan in 2022. The company has also increased its focus on hybrid vehicles, including the HR-V e:HEV.

No Direct Replacement Announced Yet
Honda Atlas has not announced a replacement for the BR-V. The company executive also said it was too early to confirm whether another model would take its place.
The discontinuation leaves Honda Atlas with the City, Civic and HR-V as key locally assembled models. Recent price reductions for Honda’s hybrid HR-V variants also reflect the company’s presence in the expanding electrified vehicle segment.
