Gold price in Pakistan

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan fell by Rs3,100 per tola on Wednesday, October 7, as international bullion prices also moved lower. The latest decline brought the price of 24-karat gold to Rs434,436 per tola, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. 

24-Karat Gold Price Drops

The price of 24-karat gold decreased by Rs3,100 per tola from the previous rate of Rs437,536.

Gold priced by weight also recorded a decline. The price of 24-karat gold fell by Rs2,658 to Rs372,458 per 10 grams. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold was recorded at Rs341,432 per 10 grams.

Silver Price Also Falls

Silver prices also declined in the local market.

The price of 24-karat silver dropped by Rs100 per tola to Rs6,488, while the price of 10 grams decreased by Rs86 to Rs5,562.

International Gold Prices Decline

The latest fall in domestic gold prices followed a decline in international bullion markets. International gold was quoted at around $4,119 per ounce, down by $31 from the previous level.

A stronger US dollar has also placed pressure on gold prices, while investors are closely watching signals from the US Federal Reserve regarding interest rates.

International Silver Also Under Pressure

International silver prices also moved lower, with silver trading at around $60.10 per ounce.

The simultaneous declines in international gold and silver prices contributed to the downward movement in Pakistan’s domestic bullion market.
