KARACHI, September 30, 2026 — Karachi continues to experience prolonged electricity load-shedding in several areas, with some neighbourhoods facing multiple scheduled outages each day. The latest schedule for November 2026 shows that certain feeders may experience up to 12 hours of scheduled power cuts.
Several Karachi Areas Face Extended Power Cuts
According to the published schedule, multiple feeders in areas including Baldia, Lyari, Liaquatabad, Korangi, Malir and Gulistan-e-Johar are listed for four load-shedding cycles per day.
Some of the affected feeders have outages spread across morning, afternoon, evening and night periods, resulting in lengthy interruptions for consumers.
Mominabad Feeder Faces Around 12 Hours of Outages
The Mominabad feeder in Baldia is among the areas listed for extended outages. Its schedule includes four separate periods:
- 7:35am to 10:35am
- 11:35am to 3:05pm
- 4:05pm to 6:35pm
- 8:05pm to 11:05pm
Together, these periods amount to approximately 12 hours of scheduled load-shedding.
Several feeders in Lyari, including Lyari Telephone Exchange, Alvi Road and Jumma Baloch, are also listed for four three-hour cycles during the day.
Protests Reported Over Power Outages
Extended electricity outages have led to protests in parts of Karachi, including Mowach Goth, Baldia Town and Liaquatabad.
Residents have reportedly taken to the streets and blocked roads while protesting prolonged power cuts. The issue has also received attention from a Sindh Assembly special committee, which questioned K-Electric officials about unannounced load-shedding.

How K-Electric Determines Load-Shedding
K-Electric says its load-shedding schedule is determined at the feeder level based on electricity losses, including power theft and non-payment of bills. Feeders are classified according to their recorded losses, which affects the applicable load-shedding duration.
Consumers can check the schedule applicable to their individual feeder through the KE Live app’s Power section or by calling 118. K-Electric’s official load-shedding page also requires consumers to enter their account number to identify the applicable schedule.
The company also warns that localised faults involving feeders or PMTs can result in additional outages beyond scheduled load-shedding.
