ISLAMABAD, September 30, 2026 — Pakistan has received 21 new rescue and firefighting vehicles from China after a gap of 17 years, marking a major addition to Islamabad’s emergency response fleet. The vehicles arrived at Karachi Port and are expected to reach the federal capital within five days.
New Rescue Fleet Arrives at Karachi Port
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi inspected the newly arrived vehicles during his visit to Karachi Port. The vehicles have been supplied for Islamabad Rescue 1122 and the Fire Brigade.
Officials briefed the minister about the vehicles’ specifications and operational capabilities. The new equipment is expected to strengthen emergency services in Islamabad after years without a similar fleet expansion.
Vehicles to Be Deployed at Six Islamabad Stations
The new rescue vehicles will be deployed across six stations in Islamabad and will remain available around the clock.
According to officials, the vehicles are equipped with modern rescue and firefighting technology and can support emergency operations at heights of up to 256 feet.
Fleet Includes Aerial Fire Trucks and Fire Towers
The newly delivered fleet includes:
- Four aerial fire trucks
- Six fire towers
- Five fire tenders
- Other modern rescue and firefighting vehicles
The equipment is designed to improve the response to fires, particularly emergencies involving high-rise buildings and other difficult-to-reach locations.

Biggest Islamabad Rescue Fleet Expansion Since 2009
Mohsin Naqvi described the arrival of the vehicles as the biggest expansion of Islamabad Rescue since 2009. He also expressed appreciation to the Chinese government for expediting the supply of the equipment.
Officials from the Capital Development Authority, Islamabad administration, Customs and the National Logistics Corporation were also present during the inspection at Karachi Port.
