DETROIT, September 27, 2026 — Three people were killed and four others were injured after gunfire erupted at an after-hours strip club on Detroit’s west side early Sunday morning, police said.
Police said the shooting followed an argument at the location near Prest Street and Eaton Avenue. Investigators are working to identify those responsible, while authorities said there was no indication of an ongoing threat to the wider community.
Three Men Killed in Early Morning Shooting
Detroit police responded to the scene shortly after 7:20 a.m. and found three men suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
Police Chief Todd Bettison said the victims appeared to be around 30 or older. Four additional people — two men and two women — were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Argument Reportedly Led to Gunfire
According to police, the shooting began after a fight or altercation at the after-hours establishment.
Chief Bettison said investigators believe people involved in the dispute ultimately turned to gun violence. Authorities have not publicly identified a suspect or announced an arrest in connection with the shooting.
Police Say Location Had Previous Calls
The location was already known to Detroit police. Bettison said officers had received seven calls involving the address this year.
