Woman set on fire by husband in Karachi has tragically passed away after fighting for her life for over a week. The victim, 23-year-old Rabia, was critically injured in a horrifying act of domestic violence in the Korangi area.

The shocking incident occurred on March 14 in Mehran Town, where a domestic dispute took a gruesome turn. According to Rabia’s family, her husband, Waqas, allegedly poured a flammable liquid over her and set her ablaze inside their home.

Doctors at Civil Hospital’s Burns Ward confirmed that Rabia had sustained severe burn injuries covering nearly 50% of her body, including her face and chest. Despite intensive treatment, she succumbed to her injuries after 8 days of struggle.

Police officials arrested Waqas immediately following the incident. A case had already been filed, and now, with Rabia’s death, murder charges have been added.

Rabia’s body has been handed over to her family after all legal formalities were completed.
