Woman gives birth on Karachi-bound train

A woman gave birth aboard the Rahman Baba Express after the train bound for Karachi was stalled at Dhabeji station due to an engine malfunction on Wednesday, railway officials reported.

The delivery took place in carriage number eight, with both mother and newborn reported to be in stable condition.

Responding quickly, railway police head constable Shoaib Raza called onboard doctors who provided immediate medical assistance, preventing complications.

Because the mother could not continue the journey, she and her newborn were transported—with her family’s consent—to Korangi Hospital by Rescue 1122 ambulance for further care.

Railway authorities said police fully assisted during the incident, and the family expressed gratitude for the support provided.
