Karachi dense fog flight disruption

Karachi experienced dense fog on Thursday morning, significantly reducing visibility across multiple parts of the city and disrupting both commuter movement and flight operations. According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), visibility dropped to as low as 50 metres at Jinnah International Airport, forcing suspension or delays of numerous departures and diversions of certain flights.

Foggy conditions were reported in areas including Malir and Scheme 33, complicating road travel for commuters during early hours. Airport authorities noted that at least ten flights were affected, with two alternate services managing to take off as scheduled despite the low visibility.

PMD meteorologists attributed the dense fog to high humidity and minimal wind, conditions that are expected to persist. Officials advised residents and travellers to exercise caution, particularly motorists navigating fog-covered roads, while updates on flight schedules continue to be issued.
