Sindh Government Children’s Hospital closure

The Sindh Government Children’s Hospital in Karachi has suspended its services after staff reportedly went unpaid for several months, prompting closure of wards, emergency departments, and major services.

According to reports, over 400 employees — including doctors, nurses, and support staff — had not received their salaries for up to four months, leading to widespread operational breakdown and forcing patients to seek treatment elsewhere.

Hospital administration says the suspension remains in effect until pending dues are cleared. Meanwhile, parents and political activists have expressed concern over the disruption of paediatric care in the city and are calling for urgent government intervention.
